UCVO has received funding through the Carbon Neutral Islands project to create a Third Sector Climate Action Plan for Uist.  Eriskay has a Climate Action Plan, and Uist already has a Uist Local Energy Plan and a plan for Growing a Sustainable Local Food Eco-System in Uist. The Third Sector Climate Action Plan will therefore concentrate on the themes of Active Travel, Waste and Community Resilience & Adaption.

UCVO and Third Sector partners will be delivering:

1. community workshops to engage the wider community in the Climate Action Plan. These will be run between October 2024 to February 2025.
2. UCVO will be holding a wider event early in December, inviting community groups, community councils, councillors and interested members of the community to contribute to and help prioritise actions for the plan.
