Who we are
Uist Council of Voluntary Organisations (UCVO) is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, first formed in 1975 and run by a board of directors. UCVO provides a single point of access for support and advice for the third sector in the area and represents the third sector with clear links to Community Planning.

UCVO also runs a charity shop, with proceeds going to a community trust fund which provides financial grants to individuals living in Uist.
UCVO Trading Ltd produces the award-winning monthly newspaper Am Paipear.
UCVO is a partner in Third Sector Interface (TSI) Western Isles, which is funded by Scottish Government as part of a Scotland wide network of 32 Third Sector Interfaces to support development of volunteering, social enterprise, building a strong third sector and building the third sector relationship with community planning.
The TSI Scotland Network TSI Scotland Network – Supporting Scotland’s Third Sector is a body of charities that support the third sector across Scotland. There are 32 TSIs – or Third Sector Interfaces in Scotland, one for each local authority area. The TSI Scotland Network is supported to carry out its main functions by the Third Sector Unit of Scottish Government.
